History of The Moonlight African Violet Society

The Moonlight African Violet Society was founded in Fort Worth, Texas on June 15, 1976.

At one time there was only one African Violet club in Fort Worth, The Fort Worth African Violet Society,

This club met in the daytime, but there was a need for an evening club, so the Moonlight African Violet Society was formed. As the name implies, The Moonlight African Violet Society met at night.

As women began to move into the workforce and their days got busier, the membership swindled in the day time club. The day time club, which had helped the evening club get start eventually disbanded.

Over the next few years members from the Fort Worth African Violet Society found their way to the Moonlight African Violet Society.

Now, as then the shared love of African Violets draws people together.
